Harvard Professor of Practice, Karen Mapp, will be presenting a half day seminar for principals and their PTA presidents and leadership teams on June 13th at Hamilton Princess.
The session will explore Family Engagement as a cornerstone of student well-being and academic achievement. When schools and families work together, the effect can be transformative.
About Dr. Mapp:


Over the past 25 years, Professor Mapp’s research and practice focus has been the cultivation of partnerships among families, community members, and educators that support student achievement and school improvement. Her annual four-day Summer Institute at Harvard Graduate School of Education is regularly filled to capacity, with educators traveling from as far away as Africa, Lebanon, the Philippines and New Zealand.
This seminar will present Bermuda public school leadership teams with a valuable opportunity to explore effective and equitable family engagement practices which create partnerships based on a framework of trust and respect.
