Our Story

Bermuda Education Network was founded by Becky Ausenda in 2011 to use the power of community to address the achievement gap between the public and private school systems. She saw a need to create an organization focused on educators within the system. BEN creates opportunities for teachers to develop their leadership skills, expand their repertoire for curriculum enhancement and their confidence as problem solvers in their school.

Our Vision

Over 50 per cent of Bermuda’s children are not achieving reading proficiency by P4. Our vision is to create a professional community of leaders who work together to decrease the number of students who are not achieving reading proficiency and make services and opportunities available to public school students. We believe that if we work together, we can be the catalyst for dramatic systemic change in Bermuda’s public schools.

We offer programmes that give PD hours while deepening connections throughout the teaching community through workshops, local, fun and curated events.
